Oculus 2.5.5

How To Keep a History

Oculus can keep a number of your WebCam photos on your website so that your visitors can see what you did an hour ago, or what you did last week. There are two ways of doing this.

Oculus allows you to cycle your photos or apply a time and/or date stamp to the name of your files. When you cycle your photo or movies on your website, Oculus renames the previous files to have a higher number than before. For example: if you specify that you want 3 photos to be cycled, the oldest will be named
3.jpg, then
2.jpg, and the newest
.jpg. When a new photo is to be uploaded,
2.jpg becomes
3.jpg,
.jpg becomes
2.jpg and a new photo is uploaded and called
.jpg. You use the Photo dialog or Movie dialog to specify how many pictures or movies you want to be cycled.

Cycling files can be done for photos or movies, on your website, or on your disk. However, time and date stamps only work for your disk files. When you choose a time or date stamp, your file will be named something like the following: 041599 123127
.jpg. What this filename represents is April 15, 1999 12:31:27 PM. The times are always represented in 24 hour format. The date and time come first (and in that order) to facilitate sorting.
